Our Pilates training sessions follow the most classic version of the Method, preserving the original exercises developed by Joseph Pilates. Each person has different needs, and we offer customized workouts to suit personal goals and requirements. Training sessions are by appointment only and last 55 minutes.

Professional and dedicated

As a certified instructor with the Romana´s Pilates® Diploma, Hugo Montoya has completed a much more rigorous and comprehensive training programme than that offered by other organisations. He has followed an intensive training at the Teacher Training School and has completed several theoretical, oral and practical exams to achieve a high quality of the teaching, preserving the integrity of the authentic Pilates Method. He trained for two years under the tutoring of Javier Pérez Pont, a worldwide reference on the Pilates Method and the only representative of Romana’s Pilates in Spain.

If you are thinking about starting Pilates or have questions before booking your first session, it is normal to have questions about what the classes are like, what you need, or what results you can expect. Below, we answer the most common questions so that you can start with peace of mind and all the information you need from the very beginning.

What should I wear to Pilates class?

To take Pilates classes, you only need comfortable sportswear that allows you to move freely, but that is not excessively loose. The most common attire is a T-shirt and shorts or leggings, along with socks. It is important that the instructor can see your body position clearly in order to correct your posture and ensure that the exercises are performed safely and effectively.

 

Are classes individual or group classes?

At Original Pilates Barcelona, all classes are one-on-one. This allows for completely personalized attention, adapting each exercise to your needs, level, and goals. Sessions are always by appointment and last a maximum of 55 minutes, ensuring a complete and high-quality workout in every class.

Can I reserve a specific day and time for my classes?

Multiple-session packs enable you to book sessions at fixed times and days each week, depending on availability.

How much does each class cost?

The price of a single class is €65, including VAT. When purchasing a five- or ten-class pass, the price is €50, including VAT.

How many classes should I take per week?

It is best to take two classes per week, as this allows you to notice the benefits of Pilates in terms of strength, mobility, and body control sooner. However, even with just one class per week, it is possible to start feeling gradual improvements and maintain long-term progress.

 

Can I do Pilates if I have never done sport before or haven't done any for a long time?

Pilates is suitable for everyone, regardless of your physical condition. At Original Pilates Barcelona, we customise your workouts to suit your personal goals and requirements.

I am an older adult; can I practice Pilates?

Pilates can be practised at any age to improve flexibility and physical strength. At Original Pilates Barcelona, we cater for everyone from teenagers to seniors over 70 years of age.

Can I practise other sports at the same time?

Pilates is playing an increasingly important role in elite sport, because it helps to optimise athletic performance and prevent injuries. If you exercise regularly, you may want to consider incorporating Pilates to help you improve your athletic performance.

I have a herniated disc/knee ligament problems. Can I do Pilates? Will it help improve the pain?

Practising Pilates helps relieve chronic back and joint pain. At Original Pilates Barcelona, we take the time to get to know you and tailor classes to your specific needs, to help you recover and alleviate pain from existing injuries.

How many sessions do I need to feel better?

The benefits of Pilates appear gradually, class by class. Many people begin to notice positive changes in their body, posture, and overall well-being after about ten sessions. Consistency is key to consolidating results and maintaining long-term improvements.
